Department of Chemistry (100% in English)

  1. To enable them to apply the knowledge and analytical thinking skills they have acquired in the field of chemistry to various disciplines—and thus to cultivate chemists, researchers, and scientists capable of building and utilizing the foundation of future technologies.

  2. To enhance students’ awareness of social responsibility and societal benefit by equipping them with the skills to engage in responsible actions aimed at promoting environmental sensitivity, sustainability, accessibility, inclusivity, and well-being, as well as fostering critical thinking and ethical decision-making.

  3. To develop and implement innovative educational approaches that are structured to address current scientific and societal needs, enhance students’ career diversity and scientific competence, and promote interdisciplinary interaction and specialization.

  4. To strengthen university-industry partnerships that enable students to develop problem-solving, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning skills; reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical applications; and achieve high employability.

  5. To effectively utilize artificial intelligence and technology solutions in education and research activities, continuously advance digital transformation efforts, and implement teaching and learning methods as well as assessment and evaluation techniques that meet the demands of the day.

  6. To enhance the department’s international recognition through national and international academic exchange programs, joint projects, and dual-degree opportunities, and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among faculty and students at both the national and international levels.

The Bachelor’s Program in Chemistry enables students to apply the knowledge and analytical thinking skills they have acquired in chemistry to various disciplines—thereby equipping them with the competence to build and utilize the foundations of future technologies.

The program aims to develop innovative educational approaches based on interdisciplinary interaction and specialization, and to continuously strengthen university-industry collaborations; in line with its vision of strong international recognition, it promotes the exchange of international knowledge and experience.

Graduates of the Department of Chemistry (100% English) program, who have received their chemistry education entirely in English, possess in-depth knowledge of chemistry, laboratory skills, and the ability to think analytically and solve problems; they have a broad and versatile academic foundation that enables them to integrate with other scientific fields and engineering applications in various areas—such as new product development, quality improvement, formulation, control of manufacturing processes in factories, chemical analysis, and waste analysis; they are equipped to integrate this knowledge with other scientific disciplines and engineering applications, and are well-suited for employment in various sectors—making them the individuals most in demand in an industrialized country.

Graduates can pursue academic careers by continuing their education in master’s and doctoral programs in chemistry or other fields; they can also participate in scientific projects conducted at universities and research centers.

The purpose of this section is to

  • to produce graduates who possess a strong theoretical and practical knowledge base enabling them to conduct advanced research in chemistry; who have acquired the skills to work in chemistry laboratories; who understand the analytical methods used in chemistry; who know the operating principles of instruments and can interpret the data obtained from them; and who have developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;

  • who can take responsible actions aimed at ensuring environmental awareness, sustainability, accessibility, inclusivity, and well-being; who have acquired critical thinking, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making skills, as well as a commitment to lifelong learning;

  • Possesses the skills to use and develop current artificial intelligence and information technologies, and has the ability to apply the knowledge and analytical thinking skills gained in the field of chemistry to various disciplines- both within and across disciplines,

  • able to use chemistry terminology in both Turkish and English and conduct research in their field, capable of working effectively in teams and presenting their work effectively,

  • possess the ability to set career goals and manage their careers, and are committed to professional ethical values—and are qualified to work in management, scientific research, and applied roles within national and international private-sector and public institutions

chemists, researchers, and scientists.
