The Bachelor’s Program in Turkish Language and Literature is designed to train Turkologists, researchers, and scholars who can integrate the knowledge they have acquired in the field of Turkish Language and Literature with areas of expertise such as reading archival documents, editing, intralingual translation, and contemporary Turkish languages, Turkish theater, and storytelling.
The program aims to develop innovative educational approaches based on interdisciplinary interaction and specialization, and to continuously strengthen university-industry partnerships; in line with its vision of strong international recognition, it encourages the exchange of international knowledge and experience.
Graduates of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature possess a versatile and in-depth body of knowledge in the field of Turkish Language and Literature, as well as the ability to use the Turkish language correctly and effectively—both in writing and speech—at an academic level; have acquired the ability to understand, analyze, and interpret various literary texts in detail; have gained the competence to conduct research and present the information they have acquired in accordance with scientific standards, along with the ability to think critically and solve problems; who, through their basic and applied research, generate practical solutions to current issues related to both the Turkish language and literary history within the fields of Turkish Language and Literature; They are individuals who ensure the preservation of the Turkish language and literature and their accurate transmission to future generations, and who possess the ability to intervene appropriately and in a timely manner in academic issues in this regard, thereby acquiring the qualifications necessary for employment in various sectors.
Graduates can pursue academic careers by continuing their education in master’s and doctoral programs in Turkish Language and Literature; they can also participate in scientific projects conducted at universities and research centers. Graduates may also work as Turkish Language and Literature teachers in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, as well as in private schools and course centers.

graduates who have completed the “Certificate Program in Reading Archival Documents” can work in archives and libraries housing Ottoman archival documents,
Graduates who have completed the “Editing and In-House Translation Certificate Program” and the “Contemporary Turkish Languages Certificate Program” can work in publishing houses, newspapers, and magazines, as well as in institutions that require translation activities related to Turkish languages;
Graduates who have completed the “Turkish Theater Certificate Program” and the “Storytelling Certificate Program” can work at advertising agencies, media organizations, creative writing workshops, and public institutions such as TRT and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

is capable of taking responsible actions aimed at ensuring environmental awareness, sustainability, accessibility, inclusivity, and well-being; has acquired skills in critical thinking, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, ethical decision-making, and lifelong learning;
Possesses the skills to utilize current artificial intelligence and information technologies and is capable of applying the knowledge acquired in the field of Turkish Language and Literature—including reading archival documents, editing, intralingual translation, contemporary Turkish languages, Turkish theater, and storytelling,
who can access and effectively utilize primary sources related to the field of Turkish Language and Literature and possess basic knowledge of a foreign language,
possess the ability to set career goals and manage their careers, and are committed to professional ethical values—and are thus qualified to work in management, scientific research, and applied roles within national and international private-sector and public institutions
To train Turkologists, researchers, and scholars.
Students who successfully complete the program,
PÇ-1) will be able to analyze the Turkish language in terms of phonetics, morphology, semantics, and syntax; use Turkish correctly and clearly; and communicate the knowledge they have acquired.
PÇ 2. will be able to read texts in Turkish Language and Literature using all alphabets used from the earliest times to the present day and evaluate them from philological and literary perspectives.
Learning Outcome 3: Understand the basic concepts and theories of folklore, evaluate oral and written folklore materials, and conduct fieldwork and research in this field.
PÇ-4) They will be able to synthesize the knowledge they have acquired in different fields using an interdisciplinary approach.
PÇ-5) They will be able to build upon the knowledge they have acquired in the field of Turkish Language and Literature by specializing in areas such as reading archival documents, editing, intralingual translation, contemporary Turkic languages, Turkish theater, and storytelling.
PÇ-6) They will be able to effectively use computer and artificial intelligence technologies employed in the field of Turkish Language and Literature to conduct literature reviews and create content and bibliographies.
PÇ-7) They will be able to follow scientific and technological developments in Turkish Language and Literature and related fields, evaluate career opportunities to set personal and professional development goals, and use lifelong learning strategies to achieve these goals.
PÇ-8) While conducting scientific research and professional activities, they will be able to act in accordance with professional ethical principles, quality standards, and universal values, taking into account the potential legal consequences and social impacts, and guided by a sense of social responsibility and justice.
PÇ-9) They will be able to work effectively both individually and in teams.
PÇ-10) They will be able to conduct literature reviews by accessing reliable information sources in the field of Turkish Language and Literature, and design and carry out academic research.
PÇ-11) They will be able to effectively communicate the specialized topics, theories, research, and problem-solving approaches in Turkish Language and Literature to all stakeholders—both verbally and in writing—using scientific terminology, and will be able to communicate at a basic level in a foreign language.
PÇ-12) They will be able to identify fundamental works written in various periods and genres within the field of Turkish Language and Literature; read and transcribe sample texts representing the historical development of the Turkish language into the transliteration alphabet; and analyze them using a critical approach.
PÇ-13) They will be able to analyze classical and contemporary literary texts within the framework of literary movements and theories, evaluate them using a critical approach, and interpret them.
