On April 18, 2024, during the first session of our Basic Sciences Awareness Workshop—held under the slogan “Faculties of Science and Letters Do More Than Just Train Teachers”—visiting students participated in classes and labs in the departments of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Turkish Language and Literature, and to experience a day “as a university student” by exploring our unique green campus. In addition, prospective students were introduced to the courses they would take in each department if admitted, as well as our certificate programs—which enable specialization in key topics in the basic sciences and emerging technologies—and the faculty’s required courses, which aim to develop students’ knowledge, skills, and social values. The second edition of our workshop, which attracted approximately 1,500 participants, will take place this year on April 9, 2025.
