With deep sorrow over the earthquakes that struck our country and affected 11 of our provinces, the entire nation has mobilized—people of all ages, from 7 to 70, and from all walks of life—to help heal the wounds caused by the disaster. As the Yıldız family, we have made it our mission to ensure that our students in the disaster-stricken regions receive a complete and high-quality education, we launched the “My Teacher Is With Us” project under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Salim Yüce, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Letters at Yıldız Technical University.
As part of the project, between April and June, we provided online educational support to students of various age groups, primarily at six schools in our city of Gaziantep. While preparing and sending stationery supplies to our students, we also provided online counseling support to our volunteer teachers through our university to help prepare them psychologically. Classes were conducted interactively via online participation, featuring subject explanations, problem-solving sessions, and study groups. At the conclusion of the successfully completed project, we expressed our gratitude to our “Yıldızlı” volunteer teachers by presenting them with certificates at our 2023 Academic Council meeting.
